Work Breakdown Structure

WorkinProject

The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in project management is associated with key deliverables that organizes the work in logic and manageable sections. The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) defines the WBS as a

"deliverable oriented hierarchical decomposition of the work to be executed by the project team.".

In WorkinProject every Project has a hierarchical decomposition on Phases and Activities, being the last associated with Cost-centers or Groups giving an additional level of analysis. Any input of data can be done at any level of the hierarchy giving the user the option of having more or less granularity on the decision support system (DSS) and business intelligence module. With this approach the Organization has the ability of knowing, almost in real-time (depends on data frequency update), the Cost and Profit margin by activity and Co-worker/employee.
